Federal Way police officials reported the 14-year-old suspect in the Wesley Gennings murder turned himself in to authorities Sunday evening.

According to police, Diante J. Pellum, a Tacoma resident, was booked into the King County Juvenile Detention Center for investigation of murder. He has not been formally charged.

The first suspect, a 16-year-old male resident of Federal Way, was arrested on Feb. 18 on the campus of Thomas Jefferson High School. He had a loaded weapon in his possession when he was apprehended. Police are withholding the suspect’s name until formal charges are filed.

Gennings, a 16-year-old Federal Way resident who was enrolled at Decatur High School, was found shot dead in a vehicle in the parking lot of the Taco Bell at 2031 SW Campus Drive on Feb. 13. Police said witnesses reported two males exit the vehicle Gennings was in around the same time they heard gunshots, and that investigators determined that the suspects had met Gennings to buy marijuana from him.
