I am proud to be casting my ballot for Mark Miloscia this year. Miloscia is a man of utmost integrity and owns a true servant’s heart.

As a man of faith, he embodies what his church teaches when it comes to being his brother’s keeper. During his time at the Federal Way Community Caregiving network, the organization expanded their shelters for the homeless.

When he was our representative, he championed a bill to cut homelessness by 50 percent by 2015 — which would have been met had our own King County actually attempted to meet the goal — and when he left the legislature, he set up another homeless shelter with St. Vincent de Paul.

Now he is campaigning on eradicating the issue of domestic violence.

Meanwhile, his opponent is campaigning strictly on “preserving” abortions. She can’t discuss what to do about our most vulnerable. Her solution to fixing our underperforming and underfunded schools is to create an income tax and raise our property taxes, which would cripple a working-class community like Federal Way.

Lastly, she moved to Federal Way the same day she announced her intentions to seek the seat. She is the ultimate opportunist without a single original idea to address our district’s pressing issues.

When deciding whom to vote for, I ask you to consider who has earned our respect. Mark Miloscia, a proven leader who has achieved real results? Or will you vote for Shari Song, who moved to Federal Way just to try and capture a fancy title and thinks the middle class isn’t paying their fair share in taxes?

The choice is clear: Mark Miloscia would best represent our interests in Olympia.
