Ballots will be dropped in the mail in the coming days and the 30th District could be the determining factor as to which party will have the majority in the state Senate.

Mark Miloscia would have you to believe that he is a friend of labor. His Public Disclosure Commission statement and the party he has chosen to align himself with says otherwise.

If you look on Mark’s campaign website, you will see that only a handful of labor unions have endorsed him. Mark’s new party is anything but for labor. His new party is working on destroying labor’s right to collective bargaining, which is something that helped to build this country in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. If you need a refresher, look back three years to Wisconsin’s Gov. Scott Walker and the destruction to union labor in that state at Walker’s hand.

Mark says if elected, he would be our district’s voice in Olympia, but his Public Disclosure Commission filings says otherwise. There are over a dozen pages of large campaign donations from corporations. When was the last time a corporation put people first before profit? Some of the corporations represented are Big Pharma, petroleum and communications.

Mark stated in the Mirror upon the announcement of his party switch and intentions to run for Senate, that he didn’t like party bosses, but wants to act independently. His new party doesn’t have bosses, they have party bullies.

Ask yourselves, if Mark had been elected to the state auditor position, do you really think he would have switched parties? Mark will find out soon enough if elected or not that his switch was a miscalculation.

With Shari Song, you know what you will get. You will have a senator that will support a women’s right to decide what is in the best interest of their own health. You will have a senator that supports the middle class and labor. You will have a senator who is solid in her personal and political beliefs. She will put Federal Way first when she is serving us all in Olympia.

Will the real Mark Miloscia please stand up!

Randall Smith, Federal Way
