Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps cadet Ron A. Silva was recently involved in Cadet Language and Cultural Immersion Training.

After a week-long training session at Fort Knox, Kentucky, the selected cadets were deployed to partner nations where they were immersed in the local cultures and languages.

The selected cadets spent three weeks assisting with current Army missions that ranged from community outreach projects to teaching English to local children or host country military personnel. Silva was deployed to Thailand.

Silva is currently a student at Pacific Lutheran University. He is a 2012 graduate of Decatur High School.
