Three hurt, including child, in late-night rollover on I-5

Mirror staff reports:

A 6-year-old child was among three people injured in a rollover accident Sunday night on Interstate 5 in Federal Way.

The incident occurred about 10:55 p.m. March 31. According to the Washington State Patrol, a gold 1999 Chrysler 300 was traveling on northbound I-5 when the vehicle struck the outside jersey barrier just before South 272nd Street. The vehicle rolled onto its top and came to rest in the freeway.

Drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision, according to the state patrol.

The male driver, a female passenger and a 6-year-old passenger were injured. The driver, 26, and child were taken to Harborview Medical Center. The female, 28, was taken to St. Francis Hospital. The three live in Lakewood, and the child was wearing a seatbelt, according to the state patrol.

Charges are pending and the case is under investigation. The Washington State Patrol seeks additional witnesses to this collision. Call (425) 401-7719.
