Mirror staff reports:

On Oct. 31, Federal Way High School led a We Scare Hunger food drive.

More than 200 students from Federal Way and other local school districts gathered for a rally at the Lowe’s Home Improvement parking lot. Students then trick-or-treated throughout the city for food donations.

The food drive generated 3,790 pounds of food for the Multi-Service Center, along with 760 pounds of food for the Puyallup Fish Food Bank. Donations were also collected for St. Leo Food Bank in Pierce County.

We Scare Hunger stems from Free The Children’s annual campaign to mobilize youth around local hunger issues. The effort was announced at a rally for We Day on Oct. 2 at Federal Way High School. Visit www.freethechildren.com/get-involved/campaigns/we-scare-hunger.
