Thanks for calling out Sound Transit | Letters

Would Sound Transit have decided to make Federal Way shovel ready if our city leaders had not faced them head-on? I don’t think so.

Nearly a year ago, Sound Transit officials said that they can renege on their part of the light rail deal, but Federal Way taxpayers were still expected to pay the taxes for it, forever. There was no shame on their part that the ballot issue they had presented the voters lacked transparency in this regard. Calling Sound Transit out on this was the right thing to do.

Also right is the city addressing concerns of bus overcrowding with Sound Transit. Rush-hour riders on the ST 577 route between Federal Way and Seattle experience very crowded buses. Standing room may be available, but the bus can be so full that you literally cannot move a foot in one direction or the other. This is no way to run a transit system. Thank you city officials for supporting the residents of Federal Way on these issues.
