Federal Way has great candidates for positions on city council, and I encourage you to check out their websites. Both Susan Honda and Bob Celski come to us with great backgrounds and I believe they would bring to these positions, fresh, new ideas to help us build a city center.
While we have grown tremendously in residents over the past 20 years, we have failed miserably with bringing lasting business to Federal Way.
This, in turn, has placed an additional burden on homeowners and taxpayers in this city. Because we do not have a good business tax base, all the responsibility for such things as Celebration Park, Dumas Bay, the Community Center and the planned performing arts/civic center comes out of our personal pocket books. An example is the ever-growing “utility tax.” Additionally, property taxes on your homes have increased and are more than they would be if we shared those expenses mentioned above with Federal Way businesses.
Celski and Honda have great experience and great ideas to jump-start business in Federal Way. Their backgrounds are admirable and they are eager to make a difference. Please join me in voting for Susan Honda and Bob Celski for city council.
