STAR 101.5 names Teacher of the Week at Sherwood Forest

DeAnna Franzen, a second-grade teacher at Sherwood Forest Elementary, was named the STAR 101.5 Teacher of the Week on Sept. 23.
Franzen was nominated by student Parker Nelson, and received a surprise visit from STAR personality Curt Kruse. Each student in Franzen’s class was given a goody bag full of prizes from Applebee’s, Washington State Employees Credit Union (WSECU), Dairy Farmers of Washington, KOMO 4, Communities on Komonews.com and STAR 101.5.
Franzen herself received a personalized plaque, a $100 check from WSECU, and a $100 gift certificate from Applebee’s. Franzen was also given the choice of receiving a Kindle e-reader or getting a makeover from Blanc N’ Schwartz Salon. Nelson, her nominator, was given a $50 Applebee’s gift certificate.
