The Thomas Jefferson track teams were too much for Beamer Wednesday afternoon at Federal Way Memorial Stadium. The Raider boys squeaked out a victory, 69.5-66.5, and the TJ girls bested the Titans, 87-48.

Soccer

Federal Way 1, Beamer 1

The Federal Way Eagles just seem to have Beamer’s number on the soccer field and it continued Tuesday.

The Eagles played the ultra-talented Titans to a 1-1 tie Tuesday night at Federal Way Memorial Stadium. Federal Way knocked the Titans out of the Class 4A state playoffs last season with a 5-1 win and also beat Beamer 4-0 in the 2007 state quarterfinals.

Beamer got on the scoreboard early in the game, thanks to a pair of Division I signees. Troy Peterson connected with Sean Ugo Okoli in the 12th minute to give the Titans an early 1-0 lead.

Peterson is headed to the College of Charleston in the fall and Okoli will play at Wake Forest University. Both also play for the Sounder FC 18-under academy team.

The score remained 1-0 until Federal Way’s Sean Rigney broke through the Beamer defense and tallied the game-tying goal in the 60th minute on a pass from Sean Tang.

Decatur 2, at Lincoln

The Gators got a pair of goals from Dominique Dismuke to beat the Abes in a non-league game in Tacoma Tuesday night. Zach Gippe picked up the shutout in net for Decatur.
