Brief: Ishikawa not getting much playing time for Giants

Federal Way High School graduate Travis Ishikawa isn’t getting too many at-bats this season for the San Francisco Giants.
Ishikawa is coming off the bench for the Giants and has received only 28 at-bats during the early season through Thursday. The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder is hitting .250 with four doubles, one home run and two RBIs.
Ishikawa, who started 88 games in 2009 at first place, has started only one game this season, in large part because of current starter Aubrey Huff’s strong defense, which has limited Ishikawa’s role as a late-inning replacement.
Last year, Ishikawa earned the Giants’ starting first base job after hitting .302 with seven home runs and 17 RBIs during spring training. Ishikawa responded by hitting .261 with nine home runs and 39 RBIs in 120 regular season games.
