May 18 is J.R. Celski Day in Federal Way

The City of Federal Way will honor Winter Olympian J.R. Celski at its 7 p.m. May 18 City Council meeting, held at City Hall in Council Chambers, 33325 8th Ave. S. Mayor Linda Kochmar will officially proclaim May 18 as “J.R. Celski Day in Federal Way,” then the meeting will adjourn for a 20-minute reception. The public is invited to meet Celski and enjoy light refreshments. The Celski family will have photos and memorabilia spanning the 19-year-old’s speedskating career on display.
