Behind the flames: An inside look at the Washington State Fire Training Academy

Chris Boone and Tyler Wilkins-Haigh are training at the Washington State Fire Training Academy. They will soon be full-time career firefighters with South King Fire and Rescue.

The Mirror will continue to cover Boone and Wilkins-Haigh’s progress in the academy as well as their transition to career firefighters, including training the remaining weeks, graduation and post-academy training.
