Celski shines at World Cup Qualifier

Federal Way three-time Olympic medalist J.R. Celski claimed the overall Short Track World Cup Qualifiers 500- and 1000-meter gold medals Aug. 19-20 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Celski also finished second overall in the 1500. In all, he won four of the six final events he competed in. Moving forward, Celski will compete in four short track events this fall, two in Asia and two in Europe, on the road to the 2018 Olympic games. Federal Way’s Aaron Tran will also be on the team to help earn spots at the Olympics. Tran also competed at the World Cup Qualifier and placed fifth. He will be on the team with Celski headed to Asia and Europe.
