Federal Way Mirror Athlete of the Week: Tate Wallat

Todd Beamer Titans third baseman Tate Wallat was been selected as the Federal Way Mirror Athlete of the Week.

As the team’s leadoff man this season, Wallat has brought the bat for Beamer during its three postseason games.

He provided two critical hits for the Titans in their 14-inning loss to Tahoma, May 2. Wallat answered again in the Titans’ must-win game over Camas, May 6. The junior went 3-for-5 with 2 RBIs in a 6-4 win.

Wallat had a hit and an RBI in Beamer’s season-ending 3-2 loss to Emerald Ridge on Tuesday.

“You always want a guy who’s dependable at the plate when it comes to a leadoff guy,” Beamer coach Shane Elliott said. “He’s that guy. He gives us the big hit when we need it, an important sacrifice when we need it. You can’t ask for more than that.”
