Kenneth McLeod

Kenneth Lewis McLeod, born April 6, 1939, in Helena, Montana, son of Juanita and Earl McLeod and older brother to Eugene, passed away Oct. 12, 2010. He was raised in Benton City and lived most of his life in Western Washington. He attended Kiona Benton City High School, Home of the Bears. He excelled at football and baseball, holding some of the state records in baseball and even landing a professional tryout.

He married twice. His first was 20 years to Shelia Jenson where he fathered six children. His second was to his rock and life partner, Lois Edgell, in 1986, who was his neighbor in Pacific, WA. Among his many career choices, his proudest would be President and CEO of McLeod

Corporation based in Sumner. He employed over 15 workers and gave back to his Native American heritage, Flat Head, which he was a proud member of. Ken had a love for sports, movies, and most of all, horseracing. His passion in life was the program of Alcoholics Anonymous where he achieved 30 years of continuous sobriety and where he met his best friend for life Mike Moran. He was a fighter to his last breath, and he lost his battle at 1:02 p.m. Oct. 12, 2010, at St Joseph’s Hospital. Ken is survived by children David McLeod (wife Lori McLeod), Teresa McLeod, Denise Price, Dennis McLeod (wife Michelle McLeod), and Christine; step-family Ken, and Ray Gorzynski (wife Barbara Gorzynski); 17 grandchildren, brother Eugene (wife Michelle); and adoring wife Lois. He is going home to reunite with son Steven (who passed in 1967) and his mother and father in heaven. A celebration of life

will be held on Saturday, Oct. 16. Services will be held at Fife Community Center, 2111 54th Ave. E., at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16.
