Cast of ‘The Bachelorette’ features FWHS grad Will Reese

A Federal Way High School grad is vying for the love of a rich single lady on the reality TV show "The Bachelorette."

A Federal Way native competed for the love of a rich single lady on the reality TV show “The Bachelorette.”

Will Reese, 28, was among 25 suitors on the show, which airs 8 p.m. Mondays on ABC. Week after week, Desiree Hartsock will either keep or eliminate suitors in the show’s trademark rose ceremony.

In their introduction, Reese greeted the bachelorette with a high five and a hug.

“Since you have the presence of a goddess, I decided that I would give you the nickname of Athena,” he said, referring to the goddess of wisdom in Greek mythology. He challenged Desiree to think of a nickname for him.

However, Reese’s luck came to an end in this week’s episode when he was one of three suitors eliminated.

Reese attended Decatur High School for two years, then transferred and graduated from Federal Way High School in 2002. He and went on to attend the University of Michigan, and now works as a banker in Chicago.

Reese stands 6 feet 3 inches tall and has no tattoos. His favorite foods are macaroni and cheese, shrimp, crabs, seafood, chicken, turkey and vegetables.

“I like taking my dates to the gym to work out with me because it tells me a lot about their work ethic and daily habits,” he wrote in his online bio in answer to the question, “What is the best date you have ever been on in the city you live in and why?”

In this show, the roles are reversed for Desiree. She was previously a contestant on “The Bachelor,” but was not chosen as the final woman.

In the “The Bachelorette,” Desiree’s home base is a luxury hilltop spread overlooking the ocean in Malibu, Calif.

“I am ready to put a ring on it,” she said in the season opener.
