Mozart’s second collaboration with librettist Lorenzo DaPonte was first performed in Prague in 1787 and is considered by many opera lovers to be the “greatest opera ever written.” This opera, the story of the last 24 hours in the life of the amoral seducer, Don Giovanni, amazingly combines scenes of uproarious comedy with scenes of tender pathos and a final scene of astonishing terror.

Hollingshead retired in June of 2007 after 35 years as a middle school teacher in the Seattle Public Schools. Opera is his hobby and he was invited to give an opera preview lecture for the Seattle Opera Guild in 1976 and he has been giving opera previews and other opera-related lectures ever since.
