FUSION recognizes volunteers at ceremony

Friends United to Shelter the Indigent, Oppressed and Needy recently celebrated its volunteers at a recognition party at the FUSION Décor Boutique. More than 75 volunteers attended and enjoyed each other’s company, great food and the awards ceremony. Founder Peggy LaPorte, Volunteer Chair Paula Freeman and Board President Bob Wroblewski proudly presented beautiful keepsake awards to Housing Volunteers of 2016 Janine deZwager and Suzanne Novak. Novak became involved in FUSION in 2002 as a unit manager, with help from her husband, Tony, and served as storage manager for several years. DeZwager joined the FUSION team in 2005, serving as a unit manager on the Housing Transition Team, as well as working in the boutique. FUSION Décor Boutique Volunteer of 2016 was presented to Mike Alderson. Alderson is a lead driver for the boutique truck and also helps with maintenance in FUSION Décor Boutique. The 2016 President’s Award was presented to Bob Wroblewski, who became president of FUSION’s Board of Directors in 2008. Under Wroblewski’s direction, FUSION properties have grown to 19 housing units and, among many other accomplishments, became the proud owners of FUSION Décor Boutique.
