Free backpacks being distributed to students Aug. 19

Community children can receive free backpacks at a special event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at the Federal Way Ron Sandwith Teen Center, 31453 28th Ave. S. The backpacks are for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. There is a limited supply of backpacks available, and children must be present to receive one. There will also be free food and entertainment and community information and resources will be available to people who attend.
