The win over Tahoma, coupled with a 5-0 shutout of Kentridge on Wednesday, improved the Eagles to 8-4 in the SPSL North. Federal Way has won seven games in a row after starting the season just 1-8. Jarred Lee threw a complete-game shutout against Kentridge. Lee allowed just six hits and was helped offensively by freshman Nick Tanielu, who was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
RBI by sophomore shortstop Hannah Kiyohara in the bottom of the seventh inning. The Kiyohara RBI moved the Raiders into a tie for second place in the SPSL North with Kentwood and Kentridge. All three teams sit at 7-3 in the North. Kentlake leads the division with a perfect 10-0 record.
When Bocchi arrived, doctors took one look at his left shoulder and immediately put him on an ambulance and rushed him to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center, which is the Puget Sound’s only trauma center. Bocchi spent two days in Seattle, hooked to an IV, receiving blood thinners for the clot that developed near his left clavicle.
