P – Scott Sunitsch, Beamer:

The senior pitcher finished his high school career strong, posting a 2.20 ERA, striking out 53 batters across 41 innings of work during 2014. Sunitsch, a first-team SPSL selection and SPSL All-Star and State All-Star game participant, was also incredibly strong on the offensive side of the ball. For 2014, Sunitsch posted a .643 slugging percentage, while knocking in 23 runs and posting a .315 overall average. The former Titan is heading to Washington State University next year, where he’ll be part of the Cougs rising baseball program.

P – Jacob Kolterman, Decatur:

Senior Kolterman had a strong season for the Decatur Gators on both sides of the field, posting a 4-2 record with four complete games and one shutout, all while maintaining a 1.74 ERA. Kolterman was also second in 3A SPSL baseball with 68 total strikeouts over the season. The senior also showed his skill on offense, posting a .410 batting average with four home runs and 31 RBI.

P – Janson Junk, Decatur:

Junk followed in his teammate Kolterman’s footsteps, posting a 4-3 record with a 1.46 ERA, his earned-run average being the best in the league in 2014. Junk also fanned 48 batters over the course of 2014, good enough for third in 3A SPSL ball.

C – Kepa Sharpe, Beamer:

Junior Sharpe earned a 2nd Team All-League Selection for his play in 2013-14. He posted a .284 batting average, with a .390 on-base percentage, while recording 18 RBI and scoring four runs himself. Sharpe’s strongest skills come on the defensive side of the ball, where the junior recorded a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage during the course of the season.

1B – Andrew McBride, Beamer:

McBride, a junior, hit .275 for the season, while knocking in 11 runs in 22 games played. McBride followed in teammate Sharpe’s footsteps, recording a near perfect season fielding, with his .993 fielding percentage good for fourth overall in the league.

2B – Ben Arata, Beamer:

The junior earned 2nd Team All-League Honors, posting the fifth best fielding percentage in the league for the season with a mark of .986. Arata also had a strong showing on the offensive side of the ball, recording a .357 BA along with a .418 OBP, all while knocking 12 RBI and scoring 16 runs.

3B – Rylan Cratsenberg, Federal Way:

Cratsenberg had a strong junior season, hitting .455, second-best in the 4A SPSL South. He also recorded two home runs while posting a .672 slugging percentage for the season. Cratsenberg’s offensive prowess also showed in his .483 OBP and his 23 RBI and 11 runs scored.

SS – J.J. Asinas, Beamer:

The sophomore earned 1st Team All-League SPSL honors, posting a .347 BA, while recording a .467 OBP for the year. Along with this Asinas knocked in three runs, while scoring 12.

OF – Lawyer Braun, Beamer:

Senior Braun finished his high school career on a strong note, notching his third All-League SPSL nod, while also being a participant in both the SPSL and State All-Star games. His 12 stolen bases tied him for second in the league for the season, while he continued his solid work at the plate, posting a .304 BA with 15 RBI. He also contributed a .405 OBP and scored 20 runs in his final season before he heads to Bellevue College next year.

OF – Michael Ziccarelli, Jefferson:

Junior Ziccarelli had an explosive offensive season, his .419 BA leading all players in the 4A SPSL North in 2013-14. He added an OBP of .550, while knocking in 12 RBI and scoring 24 runs for the Raiders.

OF – Alex Poltz, Jefferson:

Poltz finished his final year at Jefferson with a .394 BA, good for fourth overall in the 4A SPSL North. He also helped power the Raiders offense with a .397 OBP while knocking in 20 runs and scoring 11.

DH – Niko DeLaCruz, Jefferson:

The senior was the team-selected Player of the Year, according to MaxPreps.com, and had good reason to be. In his final season for the Raiders, DeLaCruz was in the top 5 in the league for both slugging percentage (.581) and RBI (22). He posted a .364 BA, with a .463 OBP to finish his senior year for the Raiders.
