Todd Beamer High School’s Iava Lui Jr., football, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week for Sept. 21.
Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?
A: My favorite subject is math.
Q: What other activities/hobbies do you participate in?
A: I am in the school’s mentorship program and also did track.
Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?
A: Coach Robert Luke, he’s always giving me constructive criticism.
Q: Do you have a pregame/competition ritual or postgame tradition, and what is it?
A: Before games, I sit by myself and say a little prayer.

From the sideline: Leader of offensive line. Second-team All-League as a sophomore. 3.7 GPA. Leads on and off the field.
