Decatur High School sophomore Collin Jack, wrestling, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week for Jan. 17.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: Math.

Q: What other activities/hobbies do you enjoy?

A: Weight lift, football.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: My mom.

Q: The best advice I’ve ever been given by a coach is:

A: “Don’t base your success off others.”

Q: Describe your pre-game ritual and your favorite post-game meal.

A: Pre-game ritual – dynamic warm up. Post-game meal – tuna sandwich.

Q: Song you currently can’t stop listening to?

A: “The Box” and “Start Wit Me” by Roddy Ricch.

From the sideline: Decatur High School sophomore Collin Jack has started out the boys wrestling season with a 17-4 record. Last weekend, he was the 113-pound weight class champion at the Panther Classic hosted by Snohomish High School. Two of Collin’s losses came at the Gutcheck Invitational, perennially one of the most competitive tournaments in Western Washington. Last season, Jack competed at the 2019 WIAA 4A Mat Classic State Tournament, finishing in the consolation quarterfinals with a 2-2 record.
