Federal Way High School’s Jaden McDaniels, boys basketball, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week for Jan. 11.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: Science.

Q: What other activities/hobbies do you participate in?

A: Hanging out with friends, playing Xbox, basketball.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: Mom, dad, brother, coaches and trainers – everyone who has helped me.

Q: Do you have a pre­game/competition ritual or post­game tradition, and what is it?

A: Pre – listen to music.

Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?

A: All music by G-Herbo

From the sideline: Senior Jaden McDaniels is averaging 25 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, and three blocks per game. This year, Jaden has shown his leadership skills by understanding that leadership is not a one day, or one week, thing — leadership is consistent. Jaden understands that it isn’t about him or his individual success, but all of his teammates. They are important and have something to do with the success of the team. He has continued to grow these skills on and off the court.
