Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week for April 15: Anthony Myers

FWHS senior on the baseball team is a top ten hitter in the NPSL.

Federal Way High School senior Anthony Myers, baseball, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week for April 15.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: Culinary arts.

Q: What additional activities/hobbies do you enjoy?

A: Baseball, playing video games, hanging out with friends and family, and outdoor activities.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: My parents and teammates.

Q: What is the best advice you’ve been given when it comes to your sport?

A: “Always play the game forward.” – Coach Gary Spinnell

Q: Describe your pre-game ritual:

A: I always place my shoes and water bottle in the same spot in the dugout.

Q: What’s your favorite post-game meal?

A: Boneless wings from Buffalo Wild Wings.

Q: Song you currently can’t stop listening to?

A: “Walking on a Dream” by Empire of the Sun.

From the sidelines: FWHS senior Anthony Myers has been our best player and a top ten hitter in the NPSL. He’s hit .475/.523/.875 with an OPS of 1.398; 58% of his hits (11 of 19) have been extra base hits (7 2B, 3 3B, HR). Anthony has played every inning so far at second base, and has assisted on 8 double plays and started the only triple play of the season in the NPSL with a leaping catch off a line drive in the in the game against Decatur. Anthony has at least one hit in every game thus far, and has averaged a run scored per game. Without question, Anthony has been the Eagles most consistent performer in this 2022 season
