Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week: Raisa Pleasant

T.J. girls wrestling coach has high expectations for Pleasant in postseason.

Thomas Jefferson High School’s Raisa Pleasant, girls wrestling, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for Jan. 12.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: Math

Q: What other activities/hobbies do you participate in?

A: Hiking, camping, watching Netflix and playing board games with family

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: Father

Q: Do you have a pre- or post-game tradition? What is it?

A: I usually just visualize how the match will go and afterward see how differently I pictured it versus how it really went and understand why it was different or similar

Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?

A: “Lemon,” by N.E.R.D. and Rihanna

“WIAA state placer Raisa Pleasant placed second at the 2018 Girls Kelso Invitational at the 110-pound weight class,” coach Jeff Muraki said. “She is a leader … and we have high expectations for her this upcoming postseason.”
