FWHS freshman qualified for the gymnastics West Central Districts meet on floor.

Federal Way High School freshman Nydia Johnson, gymnastics, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for Feb. 18.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: Biology.

Q: What additional activities/hobbies do you enjoy?

A: Gymnastics, dance and drawing.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: My mom, Crystal Johnson.

Q: What is the best advice you’ve been given when it comes to your sport?

A: “Try your best and don’t be scared to go for things.”

Q: Describe your pre-meet ritual and your favorite post-game meal?

A: Pre-meet ritual: Have something to eat prior to rotations. Post-meet meal: McDonald’s.

Q: Song you currently can’t stop listening to?

A: I like all types of R&B music.

From the sidelines: Federal Way High School freshman Nydia Johnson deserves to be the Athlete of the Week due to her hard work and commitment to the gymnastics team. She is on time and shows up to every practice. She has competed in three events this year. Nydia also qualified to the West Central Districts meet competing on floor as a freshman.
