From the Sideline

“Gymnast Catherine Huynh placed 10th overall on the uneven bars at the NPSL Sub-District meet competing against 96 other athletes on the apparatus,” Gator coach Jen Hunt said. “Catherine has persevered this season, battling injuries that have taken her out of competition as an all around for several weeks. In her first week back on all four events, she not only placed on bars, she also gave a solid performance on vault, beam and floor to finish 14th in the all around. Catherine maintains a 4.0 with a full schedule of AP classes. She is a three-season athlete and highly involved in Leadership class along with other clubs/activities at Decatur. Catherine will compete at the WIAA 4A State Gymnastics Championships with the goal to better her freshman performance where she competed in all four events advancing to the event finals on balance beam.”

The Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Federal Way Public Schools, Jimmy Mac’s Roadhouse and Sylvan Learning.
