The Decatur baseball team downed Lakes Thursday, 9-1. The Lancers took a 1-0 lead with a run in the top of the third inning. But the Gators (7-4 overall, 4-2 SPSL 3A) responded with four runs in the bottom of the inning, three in the fifth and two more in the sixth.
Brandon Zimmerman finished 2 for 4 with a home run and Isaiah Hatch and Tyler Swanson were both 3 for 4 with two doubles.
Jefferson — The Raiders (6-3 overall, 4-3 SPSL North) blew away the Kent-Meridian Royals in five innings Thursday, 17-0. Zachary Lane allowed just one hit during four innings of work. James Fitch finished 2 for 3 with four RBIs and Michael Ziccarelli, Gunnar Schubert and Caleb Wallen each had a pair of RBIs each.
Jefferson also got RBIs from Bryce Blanchard, Niko DeLaCruz, Garrett Schubert and Nick Adams.
Federal Way — It wasn’t a good day for the Eagles Thursday. Federal Way (4-4 overall, 3-4 SPSL South) was swept in a double header by Graham-Kapowsin and Puyallup. Graham-Kapowsin beat Federal Way in the first game, 7-2, and Puyallup won the nightcap, 9-4.
Against Graham-Kapowsin, C.J. Blowers stuck out seven Eagles and allowed only five hits. Both of Federal Way’s runs came in the sixth inning.
Top-ranked and unbeaten Puyallup scored all nine of their runs in the first two innings Thursday. Rylan Cratsenberg finished 2 for 3 with two doubles and an RBI and Blake Kohler was 1 for 2 with a double and RBI.
Beamer – The Titans (6-2 overall, 4-2 SPSL South) were shut out by the Rogers Rams Thursday, 3-0. Rogers’ Kelly Fromm allowed just four hits during the win. Beamer’s Scott Sunitcsh took the loss on the mound for Beamer.
