Award-winning Todd Beamer dance team hosts annual showcase May 4-5

The Todd Beamer High School dance team recently took second place in the Championship Small Hip-Hop Division at the USA National Competition in Anaheim, California.

Dancers from across the country competed March 30 and 31, and the Titans made it to the top two, along with a team from California.

The award-winning Todd Beamer High School dance team holds nine state titles, and won a National Championship in 2016. The 12-member team is coached by Debbie Yaranon. Team captains are Hannah Kim and Destinie Okoli. Their hip-hop routine this year was choreographed by Daniel Cruz.

Todd Beamer will host its “Beamer Breakdown” showcase and fundraiser, featuring its signature performances along guest dancers from the greater Seattle area, Friday and Saturday, May 4 and 5, at Todd Beamer High School, 35999 16th Ave S. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the performances begin at 7 p.m.

Tickets are available on brownpapertickets.com or at the door for $10 or $8 for students with student identification. Ticket and concession sales at the event help fund the team’s travel, costumes and other expenses.
