The 30th District has another opportunity to send another dynamic leader to Olympia.
Claire Wilson announced her bid for 30th District Senate, challenging Sen. Mark Miloscia, who called women who dared protest against the current occupant of the White House, un-American and un-Christian. This is the same person who quit one political party for another for political gain. Recently, Mark Miloscia held a telephone town hall, I guess so he could censor questions and not have to face the public that elected him in person. Also, I wonder what Mark calls those women who are not Christians?
So why Claire Wilson? Claire has been elected director to the Federal Way School Board twice, and she currently serves as board president. She brings credentials second to none to that position.
Over three decades working in education, she has served the students of our state well. The graduation rates of Federal Way-area high school seniors has risen greatly since Claire was elected to the Federal Way School Board.
Claire will focus on seeing that the roadblock to fully funding education is removed. Education needs to be our first priority if our communities are going to prosper.
Claire will focus on other issues, as well, including transportation, seeing that tax dollars are spent wisely and there is accountability. Health care will be seen as an accessible human right and not a benefit.
So for Claire-ification, we need a senator who will respect your right to peacefully protest and tirelessly show leadership in Olympia.
I am happy to support someone who would bring stability back to the Senate. Elect Claire Wilson for 30th District senator.
Randall Smith, Federal Way
