Dr. Robert (Bob) Ellison died Dec. 31, 2002 in Federal Way. He was 75.

He was born to Ellen and Ed Ellison on July 20, 1927, in Tacoma.

He attended Park Lodge Elementary School and Clover Park High School in Lakewood, and graduated from the University of Puget Sound and Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

He was the first optometrist in the Federal Way area, opening his practice in 1955.

He was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity, the Elks, Tacoma Country and Golf Club and Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Virginia; a daughter, Susan Cross; a sister, Laura Hewitt; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Ellison.

A private family memorial service will be held. Arrangements are by Mountain View Funeral Home.
