Patricia Owen

Patricia Jean Owen, 50, died Aug. 10.

She was born Nov. 20, 1953, at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Md. She moved with her family to Federal Way in the late 1960s.

She was a 1972 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, and began a 30-year career with Weyerhaeuser in 1973, working in desktop publishing.

She was an active volunteer of Daffodil Valley Volksmarchers and was secretary of the Blacktail Ridge Homeowners Association.

Shortly before her death, she traveled to England and France, attending the 60th anniversary of D-Day remembrances. As a Beatles fan, a highlight of her trip was crossing Abbey Road in London.

Survivors include her husband, Brian Owen of Federal Way; her mother, Phyllis Paulson, sister Peggy Wolf and brother Keith Paulson, all of Federal Way; and brother Kevin Paulson of Redmond. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Paulson.

A celebration of her life is planned for 2 p.m. Sept. 26 at Tacoma Elks Lodge, 1965 S. Union Ave.

The family suggests memorials to Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation, Nashville, Tenn.; the Commemorative Air Force Officer’s Club Building Fund in Midland, Texas; or to a charity of your choice.
