Jack Kearns died on Dec. 1. He was 81.

He was born Aug. 14, 1924 in Charksburg, W. Va.

He was a master chief in the Navy, serving for 24 years. After retiring from the Navy, he worked for Proctor & Gamble in Oxnard, Calif.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Milton and the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Ilene, of Federal Way; sons Jeff and Kenny of Boise, Idaho; four grandchildren and one great-child.

A memorial service was held at Tahoma Cemetery in Kent.
