Vehicle crashes into tree on S. 320th St. after swerving to avoid collision

A white Ford Escape crashed into a tree about 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at South 320th Street and 10th Place Southwest in Federal Way.

According to a witness on the scene, a pedestrian entered the crosswalk suddenly without using the flashing crosswalk lights safety feature. The car in front of the Ford stopped abruptly, and the Ford swerved to avoid a collision with the other car and pedestrian.

No injuries or fatalities were reported. One lane of traffic was closed near the crash.
