Suspects vandalize St. Vincent De Paul School

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

School vandalism: At 8:40 p.m. March 31 at 30527 8th Ave. S., police responded to a burglary at St. Vincent De Paul School. An unknown number of suspects entered the building and caused damage throughout by spreading paint, breaking items and “causing general havoc” in the gymnasium. Fingerprints were located and submitted for testing.

House of Judas: At 11:50 a.m. April 3 in the 1600 block of Southwest 356th Street, an unknown white female adult walked onto the victim’s front porch while yelling and screaming that he did not live there and that the house belonged to Judas. Although the woman was alone, she was also speaking to two other people she believed were on the porch. She waved a shovel around and broke the window near the front door. The victim had never seen the woman before. She left the area prior to police arrival.

Tool theft: At 7:47 a.m. April 2 at 30611 16th Ave. S., it was reported that an unfinished portion of the Federal Way High School construction site was broken into over the weekend and several tools were taken from two different companies. Entry was made by prying an exterior door away from the frame and cutting a chain around the door handle.

Roommates: At 11:51 a.m. April 2 in the 31800 block of 49th Terrace Southwest, two roommates got into an argument in their bedroom. During the argument, one roommate attempted to strangle the other. The victim was bitten and was hit in the back of the head with a 10-pound dumbbell. The aggressor had fled the scene prior to police arrival, and the victim was transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

Purse snatcher: At 11:27 a.m. April 2 in the 1200 block of South 320th Street, an unknown suspect grabbed a victim’s purse in the parking lot at Safeway. A brief struggle occurred as the victim held on to her purse. The suspect ran to a waiting vehicle and fled the scene, then used the victim’s credit card in Federal Way and Kent.

Knife: At 2:28 p.m. April 1 in the 1000 block of South 320th Street, it was reported that a suspect had taken money out of his mother’s bank account without permission. He was confronted by his mother’s friends in the parking lot while the officer was there. The suspect pulled a knife and appeared to moving toward the officer, who ordered him at gunpoint to drop the knife. The suspect dropped the knife and was booked into juvenile detention.

Domestic assault: At 10:50 a.m. April 1 in the 2100 block of Southwest 344th Street, a man got jealous of his girlfriend and assaulted her. He pushed the victim down in a yard, grabbed a child’s picnic table and hit the victim in the face with it. The man also kicked the victim several times while she was on the ground. When she got up and started walking away, he punched and kicked the victim several times in the back, shoulders and legs. The man was arrested and booked into jail.

Mystery bullet: At 7:43 a.m. April 1 in the 2000 block of Southwest 318th Place, a caller reported that earlier that morning, he heard a loud bang that he thought came from inside his condo. When he woke up later, he found a single bullet had come through the wall on the west side of his condo, traveled across the room and struck a wall in the kitchen. The single hollow-point bullet had ricocheted backward and came to rest on the kitchen floor.

Suspicious vehicle: At 3:44 p.m. March 31 in the 3000 block of Southwest 300th Place, police were dispatched to a report of a suspicious vehicle occupied by a man and a woman. The vehicle had been reported stolen out of Tukwila. Both subjects were taken into custody.

Stolen gun: At 8:30 a.m. March 31 in the 2500 block of Southwest 325th Place, a pistol was found in a resident’s front yard. The gun was reported as stolen and was seized for evidence processing.

Pit bull: At 12:11 p.m. March 29 in the 100 block of South 312th Street, another public nuisance call was received about a young female pit bull in the neighborhood. The dog owner was issued a written warning to contain the dog and license the dog within 14 days to avoid a fine.

Suspicious caller: At 8:48 a.m. March 29 in the 4400 block of Southwest 320th Street, a caller reported she was driving past Twin Lakes Elementary when she saw a male attempting to escort children across the street where there was no crosswalk. The caller then called the school and described the scene as child luring. The male was described as a black male in his mid-20s wearing all red. School staff interviewed several students and none of them reported any unusual or suspicious circumstances.

Robbery: At 3:32 a.m. March 29 in the 2100 block of Southwest 356th Street, police responded to a report of an armed robbery. A suspect pointed a semi-automatic handgun at the store clerk and took money from the register before fleeing on foot. A K9 track was unsuccessful. The case is under investigation.

Thunder: At 1:41 a.m. March 30 in the 2000 block of Southwest 347th Place, a caller reported that his 120-pound German shepherd named Thunder was missing. The caller believed someone may have stolen the dog since there were no holes or open gates in his yard. No suspects or evidence of a crime have been found, according to police. The caller was referred to animal control services.
