Students find meth lab ingredients | Federal Way Police Blotter

A log of police calls and incident reports in Federal Way.

The following is a sample from the Federal Way police public information log:

• At 11:26 a.m. May 28, officers responded to a stream near 1618 S.W. Dash Point Road where four students working on a school project reported finding the components of a meth lab. Officers found residue salts, Drano, muratic acid, filters and various cans and jars. An official from the state department of ecology responded and reported that there had been no pollution to the stream.

• At 9 a.m. June 3, a woman was fighting with a man at 28625 25th Place S. about taking their children to school. When police arrived, she said she wanted her DSHS card back from the man. Police retrieved the card and gave it to her, along with a domestic violence pamphlet.

• At 5:39 p.m. June 3, police responded to a reported child molestation near SW 338th St.

• At 10:19 p.m. June 3, a woman reported that someone wrote gang graffiti in the dirt on her car while it was parked at 1928 S. Commons.

• At 1:32 a.m. June 2, officers responded to 3310 S.W. 335th St. where two men were physically fighting over money owed from a previous drug deal. One of the men demanded money from the other man and was subsequently assaulted, suffering injuries. The victim was treated by medics. He declined to press charges and agreed to forget about the debt.

• At 10:32 a.m. June 2, a student at Illahee Middle School, 36001 1st Ave. S., reported being assaulted earlier that day at school. The student required three stitches.

• At 5:39 p.m. June 2, a man was arrested after being seen selling marijuana at The Commons mall.

• At 7:43 p.m. June 1, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle for reckless driving and speeding at 31600 Pacific Highway South. The driver sped away from police and there was a short pursuit at high speed. The pursuit ended at 31700 Military Road. The suspect exited the vehicle and ran from police. After a short foot chase, the officer caught the suspect and arrested him.

• At 1:03 p.m. May 31, officers responded to reports of a woman assaulting her sister with a pan at 3005 S.W. 342nd St.

• At 10:30 p.m. May 31, a person was arrested for driving with a suspended license at 1901 S. Commons Blvd. and was found to possess child pornography.

• At 11:29 p.m. May 29, a woman reported that her daughter bit her on her arm at 1722 S. 281st Place. The mother suffered visible marks resulting from the bite and the daughter was arrested and taken to a juvenile detention facility.
