Suspects break into Amazon delivery boxes | Federal Way Police Blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log Sept. 21-27.

Sept. 21

Armed robbery: At about 3:02 a.m. near the 4600 block of SW 320th Street, officers responded to the Big Foot Java location for a recent armed robbery.

Girlfriend assaulted: At about 4 a.m. near the 30800 block of 20th Avenue South, a suspect assaulted his girlfriend and child’s mother by strangling, kicking and punching her in the presence of their 2-year-old child. The suspect fled shortly after the assault and later disclosed his location when called. He was transported and booked into Kent Jail.

Sept. 25

Amazon mailbox break-ins: At about 2:33 a.m. near the 32200 block of Military Road South, a nearby resident reported two suspects using a crowbar to open the Amazon package delivery mailboxes at an apartment complex. When officers arrived, five mailboxes were opened and a pile of packages was found close by. The suspects have not been located.

Pointed gun: At about 1:30 p.m. near the 29900 block of Pacific Highway South, a suspect pointed a handgun at his step-father and two coworkers, who feared for their lives. The suspect fled and got onto a northbound bus.

Random assault: At about 10 p.m. near the 1100 block of South Dash Point Road, a person was assaulted by a stranger using a blunt object, causing injury to her face. The suspect was located hiding in a nearby transient camp. The suspect was arrested and booked into SCORE Jail.

Sept. 26

Woman assaulted: At about 3:30 a.m. near the 36000 bloc of 8th Avenue SW, police responded to a hangup call at the location. A female met with police and said the suspect, who was known to her, punched her. The suspect also strangled the female victim. The suspect fled prior to police arrival.

Skateboarder stabbed: At about 8:28 a.m. near the 28600 block of 18th Avenue SW, a boy was skateboarding with a paring knife in his pocket when he fell and was stabbed with the knife. Other boys who were with him at the time held pressure on the wound until he was taken to Harborview Medical Center.

Missing money: At about 11:12 a.m. near the 100 block of SW 332nd Street, a resident reported they returned from vacation to find their window screen had been removed and $15,000 was missing from their safe.

Firearm assault: At about 9:25 p.m. near the 3000 block of SW 339th Street, a father and son got into an argument and the father pointed a handgun at the son. The father was booked into jail on assault charges.

Sept. 27

Assault, shoplift: At about 2:41 p.m. near the 33700 block of 21st Avenue SW, officers responded to a physical domestic assault in progress at Fred Meyer. Upon arrival, officers learned that the reporting party and her sister had shoplifted numerous items from the store.
