Police arrest suspect in attempted sexual assault, robbery at Federal Way spa

Police arrested a 16-year-old male on Friday who is the primary suspect of a robbery and attempted sexual assault at a Federal Way business on Oct. 14.

The teen was interviewed and then booked at King County Juvenile Detention for robbery and attempted sexual assault, according to Federal Way Commander Kurt Schwan. This investigation remains active as detectives work toward identifying the second suspect.

The incident happened the evening of Oct. 14 when police discovered that two subjects had entered the T&Y Spa at 31220 Pacific Highway S. multiple times asking about rates and services, according to police.

The subjects then robbed and attempted to rape the victim at gunpoint, striking her in the head with the butt of a pistol, according to the police report. They repeatedly punched her in the stomach and strangled her.

The suspects fled with $300 cash, two cell phones and the victim’s bag containing keys, her ID and a credit card.
