Dozens of community members gathered to celebrate Federal Way’s tree lighting on Saturday, Dec. 3.

Held at Town Square Park, attendees bundled in coats, scarves, hats and festive accessories enjoyed sounds of local talent prior to the lighting. Performances included the Lake Dolloff Honor Choir, Federal Way Chorale, Jet Cities Chorus and Benny James. South King Fire and Rescue also provided Santa Claus a lift to the festivities.

The Federal Way Arts Commission provided the crowds with hot chocolate and cookies to keep warm. As dusk fell, Mayor Jim Ferrell invited several children to assist in flipping the switch to illuminate the holiday tree.
