PHOTOS: Federal Way residents celebrate holiday tree lighting

The tree lighting ceremony was held Dec. 4.

The holiday season has officially arrived in Federal Way.

About200 people attended the city’s Holiay Tree Lighting ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 4. The event, hosted by the Federal Way Arts Commissioner, took place at Town Square Park.

Community members Yamilet, 4, and her brother Yandel, 12, had the honor of lighting this year’s tree with the pull of a decked out lever.

Shawn Lewis and Natasha Neuschwander of Beat Frequency, a husband and wife musical duo, performed several holiday carol favorites.

Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived in style with South King Fire & Rescue to meet the crowd. Attendees also picked up Federal Way cookies and cocoa bomb gifts giveaways.

The holiday tree at Town Square Park is located at 31600 Pete von Reichbauer Way S. in Federal Way.
