The following neighborhoods and homeowners associations are holding National Night Out events on Aug. 7 in Federal Way.

The 29th annual National Night Out took place nationwide on Aug. 7.

Nearly two dozen homeowners associations and neighborhoods participated in Federal Way. See photos from the gathering in Federal Way’s Silverwood neighborhood.

The event is intended to help neighbors connect and improve the area where they live.

Several events included potluck barbecues or ice cream, along with public safety workers and police, who discussed crime prevention and more. The following neighborhoods and homeowners associations held National Night Out events on Aug. 7 in Federal Way:

• Puget Sound Hills: S. 300th/3rd Ave. S., 7 to 9 p.m. Serving cookies and lemonade.

• Evergreen Estates: 430 S. 308th St., 6 to 9 p.m. Potluck/BBQ.

• Northlake Ridge: 45th Way S./S. 333rd St., 6 to 9 p.m. Potluck/BBQ.

• Mirror Lake/8th Ave SW: 314th Pl./8th Ave., 6 to 9 p.m. Food bank collection.

• Brighton Park: 36444 10 Ct. SW, 6 to 9 p.m. Potluck/BBQ.

• Coronado Park: 2501 SW 349th Pl. (park), 6 to 9 p.m. Potluck/BBQ.
