Marijuana grower escapes FW house fire

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

Mr. Sandman: At 7:53 p.m. April 25 in the 500 block of Southwest 298th Street, a caller reported that since Nov. 30, 2017, someone has been pouring fecal matter into her eyes, mouth and ears while she sleeps. The victim believes family members are doing this to her. No suspects have been identified and the case is closed.

Indoor farmer: At 1:17 a.m. April 24 in the 2700 block of Southwest 312th Place, police responded to assist South King Fire and Rescue with a residential fire. The fire department had found a marijuana grow operation in the basement. Through a window, the officer could see several dozen marijuana plants. One unidentified male was able to escape the home and was transported to St. Francis Hospital for treatment. The male suffered cuts to his hands and feet while trying to escape the fire. The male was arrested.

Save the cat: At 1:13 p.m. April 24, a towing company found a cat inside a crate in the backseat of a vehicle that had been towed from Burien to Federal Way. The owner was notified, but did not come to retrieve the cat. The cat was transported to the Tacoma Humane Society.

Kill list: At 12:43 p.m. April 24, a caller reported a possible threat at Lakota Middle School. She had spoken to her friend whose son had a “kill list.” She said she was uncomfortable with how the school district handled the situation and said she wanted to inform the police “just in case.” No crime has been noted and the case has been closed.

Aggressive begging: At 7:19 p.m. April 24 in the 2100 block of South 336th Street, employees from Safeway reported a transient was aggressively begging at the store entrance and was refusing to leave. A records check confirmed the transient had a domestic violence warrant out of Olympia. She was arrested and booked into jail.
