The Federal Way-based KO-AM television station, (channel 257) along with Comcast, will be making the channel available for free through at least April 25, to allow any interested Western Washington residents to monitor the ferry tragedy that struck South Korea last week.

“Since so many of us here at Comcast are parents, we can only imagine the emotions of this terrible situation, and we hope opening up the channel will at least provide more information to more people,” Dave Shirley, Comcast’s of sales and marketing for Washington State is quoted as saying in a press release. “Our thoughts, prayers and sympathies reach to everyone in Korea touched by this terrible tragedy in any way.”
