Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log Aug. 25-31.

Aug. 25

Tenant tension: At about 9:03 a.m. near the 29800 block of Pacific Highway South, a woman lit a large cardboard box full of paper and other debris in a parking lot. The large fire was about 10 feet away from the building. South King Fire crews responded and extinguished the flames. The manager identified the suspect as a tenant who is getting evicted and she was cited for reckless burning.

Assault at Days Inn: At about 12:31 p.m. near the 34800 block of Pacific Highway South, a man and a woman got into a dispute at the Days Inn motel. The man allegedly assaulted the woman by punching her in the face. The man was booked into SCORE jail.

Church donations stolen: At about 4:29 p.m. near the 1500 block of S. 336th Street, a man reported his church had been broken into and donations were stolen.

Gun pointed: At about 10:17 p.m. near the 4900 block of SW 319th Lane, officers responded to reports that a son pointed a gun at his step-father. The suspect was arrested and booked without incident.

Aug. 26

Employee chased with gun: At about 3:35 p.m. near the 1700 block of S. 352nd Street, officers responded to a robbery where a Home Depot employee attempted to stop a man who had shoplifted. When confronted, the man pulled out a firearm, pointing it at the employee and chasing him in the parking lot. The man was gone upon police arrival.

Aug. 27

Firework fired at vehicle: At about 4:30 p.m. near the 33600 block of 21st Avenue SW, a woman was followed by an unknown suspect vehicle. The woman was stopped at an intersection when the suspect began heckling her. He then followed her and fired a firework at her vehicle. The suspect was not located, but the incident was caught on Safe City cameras.

Aug. 28

Gunshots fired: At about 8:55 p.m. near the 28700 books of Military Road South, officers responded to reports of gunshots. Officers found bullet casings in the 7-Eleven parking lot. Through investigation, they found two subjects approaching the parking lot and began firing at a vehicle. The men fled and were not found. Two cars in the parking lot were struck by gunfire.

Aug. 30

Stabbing: At about 11:36 a.m. near the 33000 unblock of 22nd Place South, police responded to reports of a stabbing. The suspect left the scene. The victim of the stabbing was uncooperative and did not want to press charges. An involved female said the suspect drove her rental car into a tree and left it there. The female did not wish to press charges.

Aug. 31

Man pepper sprayed: At about 3:23 p.m. near the 1404 block of S. 320th Street, a man leaving work was approached by two men in a white truck. The men asked the victim for drugs, and when he stated he did not have any, the men pepper sprayed him and fled the scene. There are no suspects, witnesses or surveillance footage.
