Firearms Lawyer hosts armed self-defense seminar Jan. 30

Federal Way attorney Mark Knapp is sponsoring a seminar on armed self-defense.

Knapp, an expert in firearms law who contributes opinion columns to The Mirror, was inspired by his own pursuit of knowledge on gun safety and self-defense. The seminar, slated for Jan. 30, will teach gun owners of all experience levels about home protection, resources for training and information on permits. Information will be available for people considering the purchase of a firearm.

Knapp started carrying a concealed weapon about six years ago.

“Fortunately, I did take some classes,” he said, noting that his seminar will emphasize responsibility. “There’s a lot of erroneous information out there.”

The armed self-defense class will be held 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 30 at the Intellipass Building, 1925 S.341st Place. Cost is $49 per person or $79 for couples. All experience levels are welcome. Group rates for businesses and no charge for churches. To learn more, call (253) 202-2081 or e-mail knapp.m@comcast.net.
