Federal Way police searching for trick-or-treater who stabbed woman

A Federal Way woman was stabbed in her abdomen last night after she opened the door to a presumed trick-or-treater.

Federal Way Police Department spokeswoman Cathy Schrock said police are still searching for the suspect, who is described as a 14-15-year-old, African-American male.

Officers responded to the 31900 block of 14th Way Southwest at approximately 9 p.m. on Halloween. The woman had opened her front door to give candy to the boy, but he stabbed her and fled. The woman, who is about 47 years old, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Harborview Medical Center, according to South King Fire and Rescue firefighters.

Police conducted a K-9 search of the area but could not located the suspect. Schrock said officers remain in the area to canvass the neighborhood and process the scene.
