Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for Sept. 24: Camelia Bryant

Decatur senior is a four-year letter winner in the Decatur girls golf program.

Decatur High School senior Camelia Bryant, golf, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for Sept. 24.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: My favorite subject in sch00l is math.

Q: What other activities/hobbies do you enjoy?

A: I like to create digital designs, and lately I have been getting into crocheting.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: The person that has helped me succeed the most is my dad.

Q: The best advice I’ve ever been given by a coach is:

A: The best advice that I have received is that “there is always another hole ahead.”

Q: Describe your pre-match ritual and your favorite post-match meal?

A: I typically listen to music on the way to a match and/or talk to my teammates. After a match, I typically like to eat something on the unhealthier side of things.

Q: Song you currently can’t stop listening to?

A: This was a very hard decision but I love “I Get Out” by Lauryn Hill.

From the sideline: DHS senior Camelia Bryant is a four-year letter winner in the Decatur girls golf program. She has won medalist honors (golfer with the lowest stroke score) in all of the North Puget Sound League dual matches. Camelia is looking forward to an opportunity to represent Decatur in WIAA post-season events that have been canceled the last two season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Camelia is a model scholar-athlete earning a 3.875 cumulative grade point average. She has achieved this in a rigorous schedule including eight Advance Placement courses in English, social studies, science, and math. On campus she has also been active in the National Honor Society.
