Federal Way flags lowered to honor victims of Kabul attack

U.S. service members among those killed at an airport in Afghanistan on Aug. 26.

Flags in the City of Federal Way have been lowered to half-staff to honor the lives of American service members killed in Thursday’s attack in Afghanistan.

In accordance with President Biden’s proclamation, the flags at city facilities will remain lowered through Monday, Aug. 30.

On Aug. 26, one suicide bomber and gunmen attacked crowds of people at an airport in Kabul, according to Reuters. Thirteen U.S. service members and at least 79 Afghans were killed, according to the Associated Press.
